Venture to one of Zambia’s wild and remote camps

Vast open spaces, starlit skies and the sing-song of nature at dawn.

Our camp exudes a peaceful synchronicity of design, community and nature - all fused together with breathtaking views over the Simalaha Plains.

We accommodate a maximum of 8 riders in four tents. We have taken special care to provide good quality mattresses, linen and towels to ease those achy bodies after long hours in the saddle!

FAQ’S

  • Our splash pool has no chemicals. Water is pumped directly from the Kasaya River which is filtered and then feeds into the pool. Later, this flows into the waterhole for wildlife to drink from. It’s a great way to while away the hot hours of the day! If you have been tanning please use the bucket provided to wash off your suntan lotion before a wildebeest drinks it later! Swimming towels will be provided in your tent.

  • Our camp runs on solar power – there is a USB port at the back of your bedside light. You are also welcome to use the charging station on the ‘big tree’ in the lounge area.

There is a WIFI router in the lounge, although signal can be intermittent at the best of times. We politely request that all guests be considerate of others space and refrain from using their phone in shared spaces.

  • Hot water is provided from an eco-friendly ‘rocket boiler’ that uses a minimal amount of wood to heat water.

Our soap, shampoo and conditioner are organic and environmentally friendly and will alleviate toxic poisoning of the floodplain area. We kindly ask that guests use our carefully chosen products to protect the environment!

  • We prefer to do laundry off-site for environmental reasons!

  • This is a low-risk malaria area - however, we encourage all guests to take the usual precautions against mosquito bites!

Areas of our camp are beautifully handcrafted each season by members of the Simalaha community - designed and inspired by traditional Lozi mud-style methods.
